Are we athletes? Or photographers?

In our last post, “Following Inspiration“, I remembered Rumi, and some quotes I have always loved. This quote should be law. “Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.”  ― Rumi A comment was recently left on our Instagram feed regarding one of our images. “Are you the photographer? Or the athlete?” It’s a fair question about how we’ve worked for the last 16 years. Janine and I appear in many of our own images, we’re certainly our own best models. But, truth …

Living and working in the Swiss Alps

In 2000 I made my first visit to Switzerland. It was time I met the family of my then girlfriend, Janine. It was also time that I laid eyes on the Alps. The Impact and Influence of Photography

The other day while riding a train, I watched as a small girl, maybe three years old, sat on her mother’s lap and flipped through a tourism brochure. I could clearly see her eyes quickly scan each page searching for something to land on. The pages with no photos would be flipped aside while those with several photos would be studied. She’d lean in closer to the photos she found interesting. Her body language, even at …
