The Jungfrau Region

The Jungfrau Region is a kind of triangle connecting three towns; Interlaken, Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen. The Jungfrau itself is the tallest (4158 meters) mountain of the 3 iconic peaks dominating the skyline; the Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau. Meanwhile, the Berner Oberland is the alpine region of Kanton Bern where all the towns are located.

The Jungfrau Region Explained

The Alps are confusing, we know… There is simply too much to do. While this site inspires ideas, and gives you a mix of options – it’s not meant to provide you with all the info. This is what our guide partners are for. Let them build you the perfect mountain or active holiday.

The images at ALPSinsight come from professional mountain sport & travel photographers, Dan and Janine Patitucci of PatitucciPhoto.

Seasonal Info

Swiss weather is nowhere near as reliable as all the other things in Switzerland. In these years of oddball climate change, there is no consistency. Of course this is only a general guideline.

Seasonal Info

ALPSinsight is the result of tremendous enthusiasm for one of the world’s most perfect mountain sport playgrounds, the Alps. The information on this site comes from both locals, and services working in the region.

Through images and stories, ALPSinsight’s goal is to provide inspiration and ideas for planning an active holiday in the Alps. Some of the best day trips, multi-day tours, and services are all recommended for a variety of sports; trail running, hiking, alpine climbing, road cycling and ski touring.
